We work internationally for blue chip clients providing a unique set of skills specializing in planning and designing information systems for navigating and enjoying buildings, campuses, transit networks and cities. From our offices in London, San Francisco, Vancouver and Seoul, we  design signs, maps, screens and digital applications and produce everything needed from brand guidelines to industrial design specifications, and governance strategies to smartphone apps. 

About the role

As part of our successful growth in the United States we are seeking a project manager to work with the existing project team to plan, monitor and report progress on a major transit-related project on the West Coast. This client-facing role will be instrumental to the effective coordination and delivery and several streams of work and multiple tasks. Based in San Francisco, it will involve coordinating work and team planning across our offices in the US, Canada and UK as well as several subcontractors. 

This role will also be instrumental in growing the US business including securing new clients and projects with the wider company leadership. Related to this there will be opportunities to travel for projects and inter-company events.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the overall project work plans
  • Liaise with team leads, sub-contractors and others to monitor progress, identify risks and plan resources
  • Collect data and report progress to management and clients
  • Produce budgetary and resource forecasts
  • Produce monthly project invoices
  • Participate in project leadership meetings
  • Support business development plans
  • Identify opportunities and assist in the preparation of bids 
  • Assist with team management and project communications

Who we are looking for 

  • Strong ability to coordinate and communicate the collective output of multiple tasks and team members clearly and concisely
  • Highly organized task manager with the capability to work across time zones, adapt to changing priorities, and calmly able to recognize and mitigate project risks with limited supervision
  • A positive contributor to the wider team able to encourage and inspire excellence while also adaptable to the inevitable changes in complex project delivery
  • Confident communicator to clients and team members with clear and concise presentation and report writing skills 
  • At least 3-years responsible experience of project management in multi-stage projects and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in business development, grant or bid writing
  • Ideally a degree in either Engineering, Architecture, Planning, or a related subject 
  • Certification in project management, or working towards this
  • An interest in information design and ideally, professional experience in a creative industry
