About the role

Working at Applied means working in a fast-paced environment where you will get to be involved with project management on a variety of projects. You will be responsible for high quality project management of projects ensuring delivery is on time and on budget, while managing client relationships, growing your accounts and reporting of financial and commercial opportunities to the wider business. 

Key Tasks

  • To ensure the smooth running and delivery of key client projects / streams as assigned to you by the business. 
  • Develop strong client relationships so that they receive a high quality experience and service from the team.
  • Work with the project team to ensure budget and timeline targets are met for projects.
  • Build and develop scope opportunities with your client contacts.
  • Financial reporting of your accounts and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage medium to large sized accounts, potentially with multiple streams of work, along with streams of work within larger multi-faceted client accounts.
  • Own, develop and grow strong client relationship, from successful onboarding to project completion.
  • Organise and maintain project dashboards.
  • Lead internal check-ins with the Project Lead to review resource needs and forecast billings.
  • Upon identification of an opportunity, work to develop a clearly defined scope, to be signed off by your client contact. This may require support from the Project Lead, Commercial Director, and other team members.
  • Assist the Business Development team in the development of high-quality, competitive proposals and presentations for new commercial opportunities .
  • Along with the project team, take the lead and contribute to project roadmap planning.
  • Reporting to the Commercial Director, forecast revenue and identify any additional commercial opportunities as needed.
  • Lead the creation of account plans / account dashboard.
  • Ensure any subcontractor requirements are coordinated and costed within the project budget.
  • Inform milestones/deadlines for resourcing needs.
  • Develop and deliver Performance reports to the Commercial team.
  • Ensure invoices are accurately submitted and work with finance team on any payment issues with your accounts.

  • Provide support to less experienced staff in the studio.
  • Support the induction of new staff.
  • Maintain awareness of up-to-date, equipment, best practices and developments within their respective professional community and share their knowledge with colleagues.
  • Ensure the company's social and environmental improvements are made, as part of our B Corp commitments.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and credibility.

The above is a general description of duties, the post holder will be expected to perform other duties as necessary and appropriate to ensure the effective running of the business and its services.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • 5-7 years experience as an Account Manager / Project Manager dealing directly with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of a design / creative studio context is desirable.
  • Experience of implementation of projects is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate both internally and externally.
  • Ability to confidently navigate unexpected / sudden requests and unforeseen detours.
  • Experience and ability to stay productive when competing demands pull you in different directions at once.
  • The ability to distil complex information into an easily understandable format.
  • Experience working with teams running project programmes and budgets is desirable.
  • Comfortable with public speaking / presenting.
  • Proficient in G suite, Excel, Mac OS and video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Teams, Google Meet.
  • Experience with project management tools such as ClickUp is essential.
  • Experience with CRM software such as HubSpot is desirable.
  • The drive to work autonomously and take initiative, as well as work collaboratively with others.
